Leadership and Standards
Pete Salter went on to achieve Sixth Dan in judo, a rare rank within British judo awarded only to those who have demonstrated decades of commitment, technical excellence and contribution to the sport.
This is a level of recognition that carries respect nationally and is not awarded lightly.
That same culture of discipline, humility and high standards still shapes the club today. Dowty Judo Club is well regarded within the British Judo Association community for producing strong, technically sound competitors and for maintaining a serious respect for the values of judo.
Our Club Culture
At Dowty Judo Club, we believe judo should develop more than physical ability. It should also build:
- Discipline
- Respect
- Confidence
- Resilience
- Composure under pressure
These values have shaped the club for decades and remain central to how we train today.
